DIY Body Scrubs are one of the easiest homemade beauty products you can make. The are also easy to customize to your liking. Because this month is all about LAVENDER, I though a DIY Lavender Sugar Body Scrub recipe was a must.
The coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and Vitamin E are extremely moisturizing while the lavender gives this body scrub a relaxing aroma. The sugar and sea salt will help exfoliate making this scrub a trifecta of awesomeness! Feel free to play around with the substituting your favorite oils like sesame or grapeseed, using more or less salt and sugar, etc. Find the perfect combo for you!
The recipe below is a great foundation for scrubs and once you do it once you can see how you would like to alter it in the future. I like to also add in some rose geranium essential oil for an extra beautiful smell but the lavender stands fine on it’s on.
If this is for a gift, tie it with some twine and fresh lavender flowers for an extra touch. I also like to sprinkle some dried lavender into the scrub itself for a prettier look.
DIY Lavender Sugar Body Scrub
1/2 cup of coconut oil
10 drops of lavender essential oil
1/3 cup of sea salt
1 tbsp of liquid Vitamin E
1 cup of sugar
2-3 tbsp of sweet almond oil
Add all the ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Once mixed, place into an air tight container. Your scrub should last about 2 weeks.
Enjoy!
